Overview

The famous Russian composer Alexander Shulgin was born on August 25, 1964 in Irkutsk.

At the age of 18 he began working as a member of the legendary Soviet rock group “Cruise”. Since the mid-80s, the ensemble began to actively tour abroad and cooperate with Warner Brothers. The group lived in Germany for four years, thanks to which Alexander Shulgin gained tremendous experience in studio work and other skills necessary for a successful career in the music industry.

After completing his work in Germany and returning to the USSR, Alexander Shulgin stood at the origins of the Russian music business and organized a number of companies whose activities were aimed at the implementation of significant cultural projects. Among them: recording 15 works of the Moscow State Academic Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Pavel Kogan, organizing and filming the Intershans festivals, filming TV films for CANAL +, BBC, creating music for television films (in particular, Christmas to the World “, Which was included in Ken Russell’s picture” Alice in Russialand “), recorded in the studios of leading Russian performers.

In the early 90s, Alexander Shulgin realizes himself as much as possible as an author and composer. About 50 pieces of music occupy the top lines of the Russian and Eastern European charts and receive awards at national awards such as “Song of the Year” and a number of other music competitions.

During this period, Alexander Shulgin collaborated as an author and composer with popular Russian performers Valeria, Alexander Buinov, “Gruppa FM” and others.

Alexander Shulgin also pays a lot of attention to young performers: he writes albums to the pop-rock project “Gruppa-FM”, a young, talented saxophonist Elena Sheremet, and others.

Over the years of Shulgin’s creative activity, 15 albums and 265 original works have been recorded and published, about 300 musical works have not yet been published. Currently, new compositions are being written.

In 2008, the musical work “Shilgin’s songbook Triptych” was released – three full-length albums of instrumental music, combined into one collection. Each part of the album was played by legendary jazz and classical musicians, including: Billy Cobham, John Patitucci, Bob James, Harry Husband, and others.

In 2009, Shulgin’s “Triptych” was recognized as the authoritative Internet resource for program directors “album of the month” and recommended for rotation on the world’s largest radio stations.

Alexander Shulgin is one of the few Russian composers who organically combines creativity and business. He successfully manages the “Familia” Group of Companies, which operates in the following areas: media, new media, publishing business, and the entertainment industry. Shulgin is a permanent participant and member of the jury of international music, television, advertising competitions.

The curiosity and versatility of human nature allow Alexander Shulgin to realize himself as a publicist and photographer. Famous Russian media regularly publish his articles and photo reports.

In 2008, the composer was awarded a medal of the order “For Professionalism and Business Reputation”.
